This week Nell Braxton Gibson joins the podcast to share her experiences as a foot soldier during the Civil Rights Movement. Mrs. Gibson tells stories of her experiences, including her arrest while a Spelman College student while mass-demonstrating and registering first-time Black voters in Georgia. She speaks on how a later arrest for protesting South Africa’s Apartheid in New York City led to her being denied entrance into South Africa and shares about her fight for global equality and justice alongside Archbishop Desmond Tutu.
